Here’s how to look up the results of your last North American AGHME HMU flight for RVSM Monitoring.

NOTE: AGHME network was disabled in 2019 with the change to terrestrial ADS-B RVSM Monitoring in the US National Airspace System.

Only one US AGHME site remains — Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Canadian AGHME sites are Ottawa, Ontario and Lethbridge, Alberta. Check this website for current status.

Terms:

AGHME = Aircraft Geometric Height Measurement Element (US FAA and NAVCanada)

HMU = Height Measurement Unit (EuroControl)

Keep in mind that AGHME flight test result updates are usually posted 30 days after the flight and on the 15th of every month. Furthermore, only successfully recorded aircraft AGHME results are posted — if your aircraft result does not appear on the current listing:

  1. You may want check the website again later after the 15th of the current month (or the 15th of next the month)
  2. Double check the AGHME procedures page in that your aircraft equipment meets the requirements such as MODE S equipment

Step 1: Visit the AGHME Website

You will want visit the North American Approvals and Regional Monitoring Organization NAARMO website:

This website will have the Approval listings and all posted AGHME results to date.

Step 2: Open the RVSM Approvals and AGHME Monitoring Status List

Open the current approvals list in Microsoft Excel or Adobe PDF. For General Aviation operators, use the “IGA (New)” links.

Now you will want to look for your aircraft registration listing in one of the documents linked on the page under the section titled AGHME Monitoring Status Results.

Choose the link which closely matches your aircraft registration and category. If you are looking for results for a General Aviation aircraft with a USA N registration, choose the links next to “IGA (New).

AGHME flight results document links

Click the PDF or MS Excel link to download and open the file.

You can open the currently posted results list in either an Adobe Portable Document File PDF format or a Microsoft Excel file format. Make sure that you have a program to open and read the file you choose. Open the file and proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Find your Aircraft Registration in the US RVSM Approvals list

If you do not see a date listed, the result may not be posted yet or your aircraft overflight may not have been recorded by the AGHME system. Check back again after the 15th of the month.

To find your aircraft registration in either the PDF or Excel document, look under the “Reg no” column in the document. You can scroll through the document or use a “Find” shortcut and type in the registration you are looking for (press the Ctrl key + F to open the Find in document box).

Microsoft Excel document version of the RVSM Approvals

Once you find your aircraft registration row, the column “Last Successful AGHME Monitoring” will show a DATE entered if your AGHME RVSM Monitoring was completed successfully. A Date entered means your aircraft AGHME flight was recorded successfully and the NAARMO was able to obtain an Altimetry System Error (ASE) result.

If you do not see a date in that column, the result may not be posted yet, check back again after the 15th of the month or the next month OR your aircraft overflight may not have been recorded by the AGHME system (see AGHME Procedures page). Possible issues with AGHME recording can be no MODE S equipment, flight was not in optimal AGHME constellation range, or there may be site data collection issue.

Next we’ll cover some special cases.

No Operator Name Listed + Full Approval = False

If you see the data in some columns are missing entries for your aircraft registration on the US RVSM Approvals document, this usually means some part of the Ops Approval is incomplete. This can be seen when the “OpName” column is blank.

To remedy this issue, you should contact your FAA Flight Standards District Office or FSDO office.

For Non-North American Registered Aircraft Operators

If your aircraft is registered outside of North America, please contact the NAARMO Coordinator to transfer your successful AGHME monitoring results (Altimetry System Error ASE results) to your relevant State Authority.

Before using the AGHME again

You can check the AGHME site status page below to see if there are any outages or scheduled maintenance. The page will also describe the best route to take over the AGHME site to optimize your aircraft recording coverage. While the page shows current operational status of each AGHME site, please keep in mind the status displayed on the page is not updated in real time and may not reflect system uptime accurately at all times.

You can also follow CSSI RVSM on Twitter for AGHME status updates. We post AGHME status updates every Monday and whenever there is a change in any site status.
